Description
Legend Of The Bear Wyoming Devils Tower Panorama BW.
This late July / August road trip of 3,280 miles would take us through the western side of Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming and South Dakota.
This image is from our days at Devils Tower (867 feet high) in northeast Wyoming.
Devils Tower (a.k.a. Bear Lodge and Brown Buffalo) was the first declared United States National Monument, established on September 24,1906, by President Theodore Roosevelt. The Monument's boundary encloses an area of 1,347 acres.
The Tower is loaded with legendary stories from the Native American tribes that lived in this area about Grizzly Bears and Brown Buffalo Horn Bison.
I found my couple of days of camping within 100 yards of the Monument entrance with this Laccolithic Butte staring at me from the trailer door somewhat humbling because of the people that have climbed this vertical beauty.
This image of August 7th shows no less than eight (8) climbers on the Tower and base.
Additional images of the climbers can be found in my FAA Wyoming gallery.
Because of the great view of the Milky Way at night and the rich history of this area of Wyoming I hope to return to this area someday.
All images and artwork from our time in Wyoming can be found in my FAA Wyoming gallery.
This is just one photograph from the series of Wide format images and artwork that can found in my Fine Art America (FAA) Panorama gallery that has over 350 selections.
From my eyes, through the view finder to the click of the shutter. I hope you enjoy these moments in time that have been captured.
This photograph has been Digitally Enhanced to help this image to be considered a unique moment in time.
Note: If an image has the Fine Art America (FAA) watermark in the lower right hand corner it will NOT appear on any print you purchase.
