Kewaunee Pierhead Lighthouse Wisconsin PA 02.

In August of 2017 we embarked on a 1,100 mile Lake Michigan Circle Tour.

Over thirteen years ago I discovered a map of the LMCT for lighthouses, even since then this tour has been on my To Do List.
Our goal was to view as many Pierheads and Lighthouses as possible within two weeks.

The trip started in Kenosha Wisconsin and then north following the shoreline into the Lower and Upper Peninsula areas and then South in Michigan once again following the shoreline to Chicago.

This image is one moment from the 33 Lighthouses that we enjoyed viewing, touching and touring the interiors of when possible.

One thing that I will always remember from this tour is these Light Keepers and sometimes their wives and children that lived with them experienced living and working conditions that ranged from one extreme to the opposite extreme within the changing seasons.
