North Pierhead Lighthouse Manistee Michigan Black and White.

In August of 2017 we embarked on a 1,100 mile Lake Michigan Circle Tour.

Over thirteen years ago I discovered a map of the LMCT for lighthouses, even since then this tour has been on my To Do List.
Our goal was to view as many Pierheads and Lighthouses as possible within two weeks.

This image is one moment from the 33 Lighthouses that we enjoyed viewing, touching and touring the interiors of when possible.

One thing that I will always remember from this tour is these Light Keepers and sometimes their wives and children that lived with them experienced living and working conditions that ranged from one extreme to the opposite extreme within the changing seasons.

There must have been unbelievable moments of tranquil warm breezes with breath taking night star viewing. However, once October arrived Lake Michigan conditions could change quickly from the Upper Peninsula area to the shores of Chicago.

From a person that helped rehab over 300 buildings in my 1st career I would like to Sincerely Thank all the teams that have and are continuing to do the restoration of these Maritime Architectural gems. These buildings have endure so much for the safety of our Maritime sailors and their cargos for us to work with and consume.

From my eyes, through the view finder to the click of the shutter. I hope you enjoy these moments in time that have been captured.
