Description
Cloud Gate West Reflection Flipped sideways.
From The Series Chicago Facades.
Cloud Gate was created by Artist Anish Kapoor and has been nicknamed by the Chicago folks as The Bean.
Made up of 110 short tons made into 168 stainless steel plates welded together.
On the underside is the "omphalos" (Greek for "navel"), a concave chamber that warps and multiplies reflections.
On a beautiful Sunday in late June 2014 the plan for the photo shoot was simple. Ride on the Southshore Line Railroad from Hammond IN. to downtown Chicago.
It had been many years since I caught the Illionios Central train that shared the same rails as the Southshore line.
Our first stop was Cloud Gate a.k.a. THE BEAN and Chicago weather gave us the perfect June day for this Photo Shoot.
This is just one photograph in my Downtown Chicago Facades series, additional Downtown Chicago Facades can be found in my FAA Chicago Facades, Chicago River Walk and Chicago IL galleries.
You can also find a very large selection of Chicago Photographic images and Artwork in my FAA Chicago Sports, Chicago Sears Willis Tower, Aerial of Chicago The High Noon series and Chicago IL galleries.
This photograph has been Digitally Enhanced to help this image to be considered a unique moment in time.
Note: If an image has the Fine Art America (FAA) watermark in the lower right hand corner it will NOT appear on any print you purchase.
From my eyes, through the view finder to the click of the shutter. I hope you enjoy these moments in time that have been captured.
